Hello TeeJay,
Just like before during the early 2000s I'd say peoples perceptions on looking up games have changed kids and teenagers these days don't look up "online games" because to them online games is stuff that is on xbox, playstation and nintendo like actual multiplayer games.
Also webmasters tend to not look on Google Trends to see what keywords are spiking up in terms of traffic but rather go "Google Adwords Keyword Tool" which will give you more indepth traffic results on certain keywords, there are many keywords you could capitalize on such as....
- Fortnite
- Minecraft
- Battle Royal
Or more on certain topics surrounding certain IPs or games, if you can be a little more creative you'll find that piggy backing off certain popular websites can workout for you too, just don't do what I did and rank up number one for "Google Free Games" as Google banned one of my websites from adsense and the search results for doing that lmao.
I do think that flash is for sure slowly dieing out, it's still popular in tier 3 traffic countries and would be past 2020 so there is still potential to grow and expand, I told them all when I was on TalkArcades that if you don't adapt to the changing behaviors of visitors then you'll get left behind and sure enough many did with some taking that time to create more from what they had like the very talented people over at
https://orangegames.com/products/ and took what was already around and improved apon it. There are 1000s of webmasters which have dropped out of making games portals now which is good news for us still in this business and these days it's a lot more easy to gain traffic in areas where it was once overcrowded or unable to earn from.
If you have a strong website, unique in all aspects with unique content from every detail from the thumbnails, urls, descriptions and cms then you'll easily gain some traction in this sector without the need to build on links since your visitors will do that for you. Although MyArcadePlugin is good, I do not like however Wordpress and feel that wordpress is one of the top most exploited cms's out there in the whole world not to mention to run it takes many resources since exploiters tend to brute force all areas heavily and dispite the vast amount of "security" plugins out there it's not enough and for that reason, I say you need to avoid using wordpress, it's not good for you or your website and in the long run will damage your search credibility.
I've done many mistakes in the past but I have learned a vast amount of knowledge from it all with some unique skills that puts me ahead of everyone else and keeps me alive and going.
Regards,
Antz
